Since the introduction and implementation of the Pressure Systems and Transportable Gas Containers Regulations in July 1994, a need has arisen for an update and clarification of what is happening in industry with the legislation, especially as these regulations were revoked in February 2000 and replaced with The Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000:128
This Seminar will look at the updated Pressure Systems Legislation, which covers a number of regulations for Steam, Compressed Gases (including Compressed Air), Liquefied Gases, High Pressure Hot Water, and Refrigeration Systems. The Regulations place the safety of pressure systems firmly in the lap of the "Owner or User", and the course will show you how to avoid the pitfalls of not conforming. Advice will also be given regarding the Written Schemes of Examination and what should or should not be included in them. Excluded items may unwittingly place the safety of these items firmly in the lap of the Owner/User, especially if an accident occurs.
All companies who come under the criteria of the Regulations must have various parts of the pressure system inspected and certified - but this is not all, owners and users must also document repairs and modifications and ensure they are safe. New designs must also be approved for all pressure systems and they must be constructed and installed correctly. This is not only relevant to large systems but also small ones such as compressed air.
Delegates will learn how and when to pass on information to the Authoritative Body and which items need to be marked. They will also learn about Safe Operating Limits, which must be stated and never exceeded, and protective devices which must be incorporated into the system.
Anybody involved with a pressure system must have proof that they have been trained in how to operate the system safely.
