A robust EMS is not about 'paperwork' but minimising risk to your business and meeting stakeholder expectations.
What is an EMS?
An Environmental Management System is a systematic approach to managing the environmental impact of your business, whether you run a system ‘in house’ or aim to gain certification to ISO 14001 or EMAS.
How can an EMS benefit your company?
In many industries pressure is being applied by customers down the supply chain to improve their environmental performance and adopt a robust EMS. Doing so will not only help to ensure continued business but system can also help you to:-
- Plan and establish a system to minimise risk
- Organise, implement, maintain and continually improve environmental management and reduce costs
- Help ensure legal compliance and prevent pollution
- Seek third party certification to ISO 14001 or EMAS
If you already operate a recognised Quality and/or Health and Safety Management System you may wish to consider integration to reduce workload.
