The EC Directive on Physical Agents (Vibration deals not only with hand-arm vibration, but also whole body vibration and the repercussions are likely to be substantial. Typical activities resulting in vibration exposure include:-

- Holding vibrating work pieces while grinding, linishing, sanding, drop forging and stamping.
- Use of hand guided equipment, eg lawnmowers, floor polishers, impactors.
- Whole body vibration from driving of construction, mining and quarrying plant, agricultural machinery etc.

- Assessing the risk to employees from all sources of vibration
- Advising on methods of control
- Providing a fully interpretive Report
