Health & Safety Management Audits |

The problem
Stakeholder pressure is increasing on businesses to improve and report on Health, Safety & Environmental performance. How do you know whether you are meeting current and forthcoming legislation?
The Solution
The Association offers a full auditing service to help you ascertain the robustness, reliability, consistency and effectiveness of your existing systems, paying particular attention to:
-The degree of compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, including legislation, and,
-Where standards are absent or inadequate.
Audits would normally be carried out against HSE’s Guidance Note HS(G)65 'Successful Health & Safety Management', BS 8800 or OHSAS 18001. The guides set out generic frameworks for the successful management of health and safety and provide excellent benchmarks for health and safety auditing.
The auditing process would include:
-A review of documentation
This would include a review of your health & safety policies, procedures, permit to work systems, minuting of meetings etc.
-Interviews with key personnel
It is proposed that we hold interviews with key personnel within the organisation with regard to health and safety including directors, managers, safety representatives and team leaders.
-Observations of performance via site inspection
A full site inspection would be conducted to verify the implementation of policy and procedures and to identify solutions to appropriate issues.
A full report highlighting areas of concern would be produced indicating practical solutions which would allow the production of a prioritised action plan to help you improve health and safety performance. The Association team who would be involved in this audit have extensive experience of auditing in a wide range of organisations.
